How to produce SSP fertilizer from Phosphate Ore?
In general, the SSP fertilizer granules production system is similar with the phosphate ore granulation system. However, it is necessary to adopts refined processes for stable superphosphate production from phosphate rock and Sulfuric acid. For this, it requires sulfuric acid dilution and phosphate ore processing, acid-resistant dosing, reaction mixing, curing, neutralization, and gas treatment between ore grinding and granulation. So the final produced GSSP fertilizer offers required phosphorus, calcium, and sulfur value.
Sulfuric acid dilution and phosphate ore processing
In this case, you first prepare quality materials for SSP phosphate fertilizer manufacturing. For phosphate ore processing, it not only choose it with P₂O₅ content over 30%, but also break phosphate ore into small particles and crush it into fine powder (<100 mesh). At the same time, for efficient reaction, it is advisable to use industrial sulfuric acid material of 93% or 98% concentration in your SSP fertilizer production projects. Then, dilutes it into 68%~72% concentration in PP acid preparation tank.
Metering and conveying phosphate rock powder and diluted sulfuric acid
To prepare required SSP fertilizer granules and improve conversion, it is important to accurate dosing of acid and phosphate powder. Mixing phosphate powder with sulfuric acid to speed up SSP production
Then, it is time to SSP generation. Quickly blends phosphate rock powder and acid in cone mixer or horizontal mixer. Strong mixing improves contact area, speeds the reaction, and helps the slurry enter the curing chamber smoothly. In the belt reaction chamber, the two materials will continue to react and forming a stable SSP fertilizer. The entire process takes approximately 20-60 minutes.
Aging and neutralization
Next, fresh produced SSP fertilizer needs aging to further increasing the decomposition rate of the phosphate rock. It only needs 2-4 weeks. If you want to further reduce free acidity, you can add limestone powder, ammonia, or another neutralizing material to before granulation.
After further processing the finished SSP fertilizer materials with granulation, drying, cooling, screening and packaging, you can produce quality SSP fertilizer granules for commercial selling.
